Terri-good Ninja Fight Scene

This here is a ridiculous and yet extensive double ninja fight scene that I can only assume is the culmination of the whole film. The scene is set when the two begin their epic duel on a rooftop badminton court, giving you an idea of how bad ass its about to get. The hero then spends 9 minutes getting his ass kicked by the other clearly better ninja, both of them using an absurd variety of weapons (Sword, Scabbard, Shuriken, Flash Bomb, Flamethrower, Mini-dagger, Mini-dagger on a Stick, Chain-Kama thing... etc etc) and demonstrating that flipping is the most efficient means of travel. It's essentially an B rate action scene so bad its good! :D

The Jaguar Supercomputer Puts Real Cat to Shame

Allow me to start this post with some perspective. An extremely nice home computer right now might have a quad core processor, 8GB of on board RAM and a Terabyte hard drive.

This preposterous monster they cooked up in the name of science (FOR SCIENCE!!), The Jaguar, is slightly better than the machine I mentioned before. For instance, they scaled up from 4 cores to around 255,000!! Its got 16GB of RAM per processor, giving it a total of 261 GB of RAM. That goes nicely with its 10,750 Terabytes of hard drive space. Oh, and each of those 192 servers that makes up its storage space can spit out information to the computer at 1.25 GB/s. That's 240 GB/s total.

Yes, this machine could load everything on all the computers of all your immediate relatives into memory in under a second. And then it'd compute the shit out of that data.

Possible downsides include its 4,500 square ft footprint, and a bit of an electricity bill from its 50,000,000 kW annual operating usage.

While I can't confirm the inspiration behind this image, I can only assume it was Left 4 Dead. I say this because I have L4D on the mind, and therefore everyone else must too. So I don't know if any of you have heard of the now annual Desert Bus fund raising event before, but its a damn creative way to encourage people to donate. In short these 4 people promise to keep playing this incredibly boring game for as long as people keep donating (with the required price going up each hour). Apparently people love the idea that their money not only goes to helping children but that it also directly causes misery in a bunch of uppity nerds because this year in 5 days they raised $132,438.94!

Pigeon: Impossible

This awesome animation was incredibly made by a single man with a passion. Man that's gonna look good on his resume ;)

His attention to detail really separates it from so many other independent animations. Notice things like the color shifting shader on the pigeon's neck or the nice broiling smoke effects... or don't and just enjoy the film.
