Minority Report is Here Today

Minority Report is here! Well, not the whole future reading police force bit, but the more important "wave your hands about" input model. I still can't really tell if this is actually a good way to interact with your machine for a lot of uses, but I'm sure we'll find out in the future. This presentation is pretty awesome, but it also has a lot of little cheats in it. Just because you have a cool glove doesn't mean you can instantly crop a dump truck out of a moving video and comp it in with some dude. Thats a piece of software that simply doesn't exist yet.

The Worst Movie Ever? Probably.

Wow, just wow. If the acting and story doesn't make you choke on your own puke, the hardcore theme song and visual effects will end you. I know this is supposed to be a parody but they almost did it too well... I do love the reviews section where they quote an IMDB review though. Nice touch.

I Think I'm Turning Japanese

Well here's a bizarre remake of a bizarre song, accompanied by a crazy video. I'm not sure why Kirsten Dunst did this production but its certainly amusing to watch. Of course if you took it seriously it could also be offensive, so you know... don't.

360 Degree VR Action

Calling these stunning images "photographs" almost seems demeaning. They capture some breathtaking moments in a 360 degree panorama that also fully tilts on the vertical axis. Once you manage to close your jaw and wipe the drool off, now think about how they did this.

I mean seriously, how the f*** do you instantaneously capture an image in every direction with no seams, no timing issues (look at the water in the rafting picture), with no sign of a rig holding up the camera, no shadow from the camera, and frequently the camera is apparently floating over virgin snow, rushing water or 20' up.

This is an impressive little stop animation video where two fellows wage war upon each other using the graphics on their t-shirts. Its fun, cute and well executed. The fact most the sound effects are mouth sounds only makes it better.
